The ads are the work of my brilliant US publishers, Candlewick Press, and they link directly to the US Scream Street sitewww.screamstreet.com

So, watch out for Doug the zombie (that’s his ugly mug on the banners) and you could click through for some fiendish fun, courtesy of Scream Street!

50 Best Winter Reads

I was delighted to discover that Scream Street 7: Invasion of the Normals had made an appearance in The Independent’s 50 Best Winter Reads.  The entry read:

‘Tommy Donbavand is fast becoming the master of comedy horror,’ says Joe. ‘In Invasion of the Normals he pulls off the trickiest of genre-bending feats with great dollops of style and sparkle.’

Scream Street Makes A Strong Start In The US

I was delighted to receive a link to an article on the Publishers Weekly website recently which featured Scream Street as one of the books/series that had gained a strong foothold in the US market since publication.  My agent had told me that Candlewick Press – my American publishers – had already reprinted the first two books a total of three times, but it was incredibly gratifying to see it in print.

Scream Street makes a strong start in the US, according to Publishers' Weekly

You can read the full article here: http://www.publishersweekly.com/article/CA6705497.html?nid=2788&rid=1959776788&source=title

Let’s hope Scream Street continues to be  a popular read among American kids!

Faceache Joins Facebook

Sir Otto Sneer on FacebookOh dear…

Scream Street landlord, Sir Otto Sneer, has shaken off his dislike of technology (second only to his dislike of his residents) and joined Facebook.  His latest updates include rants about zombies’ feet, floating skeletons and a demand to know who gave his Hellhounds laxatives…

You can add him as a friend, follow his updates, and generally try to put up with his insults by clicking here: Sir Otto on Facebook

In fact, you’d better add him as a friend, or he’s going to get very angry indeed.

And as if that wasn’t enough – he’s also got a new Twitter account, with you can follow by visiting www.twitter.com/sirottosneer
